On behalf of all the A&C team our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick and we wish for you a full recovery. A thank you again to our customers for your patience and understanding during this difficult time we are all facing a truly unprecedented situation.

As we navigate through these challenging times we wanted to update you that we are again offering our full services, however we are currently running on reduced staff members and therefore would appreciate your patience as we are working our way through a back log of work and jobs will be prioritized accordingly for the weeks/months ahead. Allen & Clarke Plumbing & Heating – Safe Guarding – COVID-19

When booking an appointment with Allen & Clarke Plumbing & Heating we would be grateful if you could answer the below questions:

*You or anyone in your household has been diagnosed with Covid-19?

*You or anyone in your household has been advised to self-isolate?

*Is anyone in your household classed as high risk due to an underlying medical condition, over the age of 70 or currently pregnant?

If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, we’ll work with you to assess your need for an engineer visit before deciding what to do next. We’ll prioritize emergencies and we may need to postpone non-urgent visits to a later date alternatively if you are still happy for an engineer to attend a disclaimer will need to be signed prior to the engineers visit.

When an engineer does visit a customer’s premises, they’ll take additional precautions – including hand-washing – before, during and after the appointment.

In line with government guidelines we ask our clients to remain in a separate room from our engineers at all times. Where this is not possible you must maintain a minimum distance of at least 2 metres. Please do not offer refreshments of any sort. We thank you for your understanding at this difficult time. Safety is our priority.

Being a local business based in Layer De La Haye & run by two families, we have all enjoyed countless trips to our fantastic Colchester Zoo over the years with our children, family & friends!

Colchester Zoo is a massive part of our local community and we are so lucky to have one of the BEST Zoo’s in the country right on our doorstep!

Since the zoo has needed to close its doors last month, now more than ever it needs our support, costing more than £25,000 every day for general running! Despite the zoo closure, the Animal Care Team are vital to continue to deliver the highest level of care to all of the animals and the upkeep of the park which they call home.

With immediate effect Allen & Clarke Plumbing & Heating Ltd will be donating the following amounts up until the 23rd of December 2020:

£1 from every boiler service £1 from every landlords CP12 gas safety inspection* £20 from every boiler installation* £25 from every bathroom installation We are also organizing some free,fun zoo themed local activities for the Children in our home villages and once lock-down is over will be also arranging a raffle to help boost our donations pot! Our children are missing the zoo very much and are all very excited at the opportunity to help towards supporting the Zoo at this difficult time.

Bringing the zoo to you…

We have been very busy with the children collecting and decorating stones with animal stickers given to us by Colchester zoo.

We have then hidden over 50 stones for children to find on their daily walks in our home villages of Layer de la haye and Langenhoe.

Our zoo themed scavenger hunt

We have also made a zoo themed scavenger hunt for children to find around the villages

We have had great feedback with photos sent to us of their children enjoying these activities and once the scavenger hunt is completed are delivering little fun zoo packs for the children to enjoy from the A&C team
